Salary £29,697 to £35,301 per annum dependant on experience plus benefits including car allowance.
37.5 Hours per week - Full Time
My client is a well-established, growing charity retailer. They currently have an exciting opportunity to join them in the position of Retail Area Manager covering shops across North Wales and Cheshire.
Reporting to the Head of Retail, As Area Manager you will play a vital role in delivering the Retail Strategy, taking accountability for all aspects of performance in your area, including turnover, profitability, people, customer service, promotion, logistics, and standards. You will enable and value relationships with our customers and donors, providing an excellent experience that best represents the charity.
Area Manager - Responsibilities:
- Managing the operational performance of retail through the shop managers to ensure income targets are met and costs are managed within budget.
- Ensuring staff are well managed in line with the organisation's policies and procedures, including recruitment, performance, disciplinary and absence.
- Ensuring shops are well stocked with quality stock, displayed and priced effectively to optimise sales.
- Proactively using data and insight to drive shop performance, ensuring we are meeting customer expectations.
- Applying the science of retail through regular commercial visits, optimising shop layouts, visual merchandising and stock density and processing.
- Ensuring all shops work in line with our policies and procedures including data protection, health and safety, HR and financial controls.
- Supporting shop teams in providing a clean, safe and appropriate environment for staff, volunteers and customers.
- Providing outstanding service, developing a customer experience that nurtures a connection and engagement with the charity.
- Managing and developing shop staff and volunteers, identifying training needs and setting appropriate standards of professionalism, compassion and enthusiasm.
Area Manager - Experience required:
- Proven track record of success in retail across multiple sites.
- Charity Retail experience would be highly desirable.
- Situational leadership of staff and volunteers.
- Relationship building through communication and influencing.
- Numerical and analytical skills.
- Planning and organisational skills.
- Decision making and problem solving.
- IT literacy and understanding & using reports.
- Inspiring leader who develops your teams to deliver long term success.
- Flexible in your approach to working hours and hold a full UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
